Sorry about the three week hiatus. My “editor” has been away and I’ve been really busy (and tired, and lazy). Back to my regularly scheduled posting. Also, stay tuned for a crap load of pictures (and yes “crap load” is a technical quantitative term).
I'm a soldier in the Army National Guard currently serving a 12 month tour in Iraq. I am 24 and am going on my fifth year at the university where I study economics and philosophy. This blog is intended to be a collection of thoughts and experiences from my first preparation for deployment to the day I eventually return home. My ramblings in no way represent the official views of the State Department, Department of Defense, or of any other US soldiers. (Fingers crossed that this disclaimer wards off any future court martials)

Gran and I are delighted to have you back! We look every day (some days a lot of times). We hear from your dad regularly, but it is nice to read what you have to say. It is also nice to learn from your last blog (re nemesis) that you are obeying my repeated admonition to "keep your head down"
We are going to a meeting at the local senior center tomorrow to help organize a group effort to send useful (needed-wanted-etc.)things to you soldiers in Iraq. Send us your suggestions. Love from both of us. Gran and Gramps
