Hell freezes over
I didn’t think it would actually happen, but the army has proven me wrong once again. Tonight I was given my stripes and promoted to sergeant. For me that’s huge. Forget about the cash (which I’m stoked about by the way). This promotion entirely changes my role in this platoon. Suddenly I’ve found myself in a leadership position. Certain aspects of this new position worry me a little (for instance the idea of having to supervise my lower ranking friends), but I’m sure that on the whole this will be a positive change. We’ll see how it goes.

Congrats Joey, or Sergeant
Coon. It was great to see you on your leave. I'm proud of you.

Congratulations, Sarge. I think they picked the right person to promote.
Read ur interview in WW...you seem to have a positive attitude and to have ur head screwed on straight also...congratulation on ur promotion...Going from one of the guys to becoming the "go to guy" and supervising what were just yesterday ur peers, takes a bit of getting used to u seem to be the type that can handle it well...Anyway, take care over there and don't forget that ur fellow citizens are behing u all and we are looking forward to when u all come home safe and sound...Respectfully, JKC, Chief Radioman, USN (Retired)...
Hey, congrats on the promotion! It was long overdue.
I'm pleased to see you've readjusted to Iraq so well. Mike's R&R just ended, and I had to say goodbye to him today. It's hard to say which of us felt more awful about him leaving, and I was a little worried that he'd have a difficult time readjusting to Iraq. Reading your latest posts made me feel a little more confident that he'll make the transition successfully.
Thank you again for posting so dutifully and thoroughly. It's really been a great help to me during this deployment. Take care, Joey!

Congrats Joey. We've never met, but we've come close. I am a friend of Joshua Brennemans. I am an architect and have been having fun trying to make the treehouse dream come true. Right now, its a bit too tall for the citys liking, but I'm trying to work it out with them. Again kudos to Sgt. Coon
