Halle-freakin’-luiah

To be honest I’ve been feeling pretty burnt lately. I don’t know if it’s been evident in my posts but I’m just really ready to leave this place for awhile. There isn’t really one thing in particular that‘s been getting me down, I think it’s just time for a break from this. Thankfully my leave is just a few days away. Not a day too soon if you ask me. It has been the only thing on my mind for weeks now. I swear, these last remaining days have crawled by. Time is standing still! But if all goes well I should only have one more mission left before I pack up my things and jump on that plane. I am so freakin’ excited, you have no idea. Dingo should be getting home any day now, and I’m looking forward to taking him out for some drinks with my friends (He had his 21 birthday over here). Other than that I plan on spending every second in the company of my loved ones. I have missed them all so much this past year. Sleep is not on the agenda at all. I’ll have plenty of time for sleep when I get back to Iraq.

I’ve heard from some of the other guys that my two weeks of vacation will be over is a flash. I’m not worried about the time though. I expect it to go by quickly and I’m just going to concentrate on enjoying every damn minute. So much to do so little time. When it’s finally time to say my goodbyes and head back into the fray I plan on leaving with a positive attitude and renewed energy. We’ll see how it goes.
