Maybe, hopefully good news…But I doubt it.

The good news is that I’m up for promotion to Sergeant, and that as far as the list is concerned I’m near the top. The bad news is that in order for that to happen the necessary paperwork would have to get itself from point A to point B and the likelihood of that happening is slim to none. Still, I guess it’s nice to know that it is possible. The jump from Specialist to Sergeant is arguably the biggest in the Army rank structure. It would not only mean quite a bit more money in my pocket but also would increase my responsibilities and influence substantially. I’m certainly not counting on getting my stripes, but I’ll be pleasantly surprised, to say the least, if my promotion ends up going through.
