Shrinking

As of late I’ve lost a lot of weight (and developed a knack for rhyme apparently). Going to chow has become a matter of choice, which had not been the case before. Many of us have lost the will to leave the house unless we must. If the dining facility wasn’t so damn far away, and if I wasn’t growing lazier by the minute things might be different. My days consist largely of sleeping, interrupted only by missions. The bygone days of working out and eating square meals are long past. It isn’t a big deal, and I’m sure I’ll regain my appetite, but for now I’m content with beef jerky and ramen noodles; the diet of a true warrior (I tell myself).

Joseph! You, of all people, can't afford to lose weight! You know that when you return home, your mother won't be putting the pounds back on you with her home cooking, so it's up to the Army to pad you a little so you can survive what will be waiting on the table at home. :o) Your photos continue to be amazingly colorful, offering a vision of people we have no clue about here at home. The Iraqi children are beautiful--thank you for sharing your friendships. I dare say you could be married many times over. However, men are like donkeys--skinny ones won't be able to carry the load, so eat up! See you soon, Joey! Love, Pam
