More sadness

A friend of mine named CP just lost someone close to her. Her friend was killed in a car bomb attack during a routine convoy. CP had to find out about her friend’s death by reading the Stars and Stripes newspaper. She’s been pretty torn up about it, and I’m glad that she gets to go home on leave soon. She needs to get back to sane living for a while. Her friend was only 19 years old. It seems so senseless. On Memorial Day I was eating lunch and noticed a program on the big screen. It was a tribute to all of the fallen soldiers of this war. The name and picture of each one flashed on the screen. It really hits you hard to see all of those faces. So many of them are so young. They look just like a million people that you know.
