Joey, Ellie and I loved this photo. Your pictures are amazing! We had lunch with your mom today and she is so excited that you will be home on leave soon. It sounds like you can use a good break and a big dose of Oregon and family and friends. I hope it will restore your strength. As always, thank you for all you are doing for those of us at home. We support you all 200%. While we want to know that there is an exit strategy and we don't always agree with the choices the administration makes, we believe in all of you over there and pray for the best for you. Please let your comrades know how we feel about them. Stay healthy, safe and happy, Joey! We love you! Pam and Ellie
I'm a soldier in the Army National Guard currently serving a 12 month tour in Iraq. I am 24 and am going on my fifth year at the university where I study economics and philosophy. This blog is intended to be a collection of thoughts and experiences from my first preparation for deployment to the day I eventually return home. My ramblings in no way represent the official views of the State Department, Department of Defense, or of any other US soldiers. (Fingers crossed that this disclaimer wards off any future court martials)
