Questions, comments, snide remarks
Iraq can't seem to make up its mind. The other day it was an unbearable 112 degrees outside. The temp inside the Humvee clocked in at 145, not to mention the added heat of all our body armor. But now, a few days later, it's only about 70 and rainy. I'm not sure weather to curse the mud and standing water or be thankful that I can finally hold my rifle again without burning my hand.
I'm a soldier in the Army National Guard currently serving a 12 month tour in Iraq. I am 24 and am going on my fifth year at the university where I study economics and philosophy. This blog is intended to be a collection of thoughts and experiences from my first preparation for deployment to the day I eventually return home. My ramblings in no way represent the official views of the State Department, Department of Defense, or of any other US soldiers. (Fingers crossed that this disclaimer wards off any future court martials)

hey joe-wanted to let you know that I've been reading your blog and I can't believe that this is the same joey from lo, fighting a war in iraq. it's good to know that you are all right, aside from burning your ass off and trudging through mud.
