I went to a village about an hours drive away and was able to spend time talking with a group of boys that just got out of school. I handed out goodies while a few of them showed me the English homework they had been working on. They asked me to show them how to spell their names in English. The day had its tense moments, but I had a good time interacting with people who live farther away from the camp. It is interesting to see the different attitudes and personalities of people in different communities. Even in the more or less "hostile" villages it seems that the kids still love us (hopefully not only because we spoil them rotten).
